Coach Ygor: The soul of BUSA

Coach Ygor is, without a doubt, one of the most important figures in BUSA — in every possible way. As our methodological coordinator, coach, and a daily source of inspiration for both staff and players, his influence shapes who we are as a club. We often joke that he practically founded BUSA, but the truth is that his football journey began long before any of us imagined.

Ygor’s passion was born in the stands, cheering for his favorite team and feeling that unique spark only football can create. Early on, he realized he wanted to turn that passion into a profession — and that’s exactly what he did. He studied, dedicated himself fully, and never wavered from his goals.

His career includes impactful experiences as part of the coaching staff in the youth academies of Vasco da Gama and Fluminense, two giants of Brazilian football. There, he built not only experience, but character, perspective, and a deep understanding of athlete development. His foundation was strengthened academically through a Master’s degree in Football from UFV, followed by an international step with a Master’s in Sports Management from Wilmington University in the United States — all built upon his strong academic start with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.

Within BUSA, Ygor is an example in every sense: professionalism, leadership, work ethic, passion, and integrity. He inspires coaches, motivates players, and consistently raises the standard for everyone around him. His impact goes far beyond the field — he influences our culture, our methodology, and our identity as a club.
We are incredibly proud to have Coach Ygor as a cornerstone of our coaching staff. His presence pushes us to evolve continuously as a club and as a community. We are better because he is with us — and we continue to grow, guided by his knowledge, dedication, and love for the game.
